HOMAGE TO… SOPHIA MELLO BREYNER

Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen was one of the most outstanding Portuguese poets of the 20th century. Born in Porto in 1919, Sophia is known for her rich and deeply lyrical poetic work, which reflects a great sensitivity to nature and the human condition. Her poetry is marked by the search for truth, beauty and justice, values that permeate her life and work. As well as being a poet, Sophia was also a political and social activist, fighting for freedom and democracy in Portugal.

As a tribute to this great figure in Portuguese literature, I decided to name my wallet ‘Sophia’, symbolising the importance of art, culture, freedom and integrity in the small gestures of everyday life.
