HOMAGE TO… BEATRIZ DE PORTUGAL

Beatriz de Portugal, also known as Beatriz de Avis, was a 15th century Portuguese infanta. Born in 1372, she was the daughter of King João I of Portugal and Queen Filipa deLencastre, and sister of Henry the Navigator.

Known for her intelligence, culture and political influence, Beatriz played a significant role in the events that shaped the Iberian Peninsula during her lifetime. She is remembered not only for her noble birth, but also for her ability to navigate the complexities of diplomatic and family relations at the time. In honour of this illustrious historical figure, I decided to name my wallet ‘Beatriz’, symbolising the strength, wisdom and elegance that Beatriz of Portugal represented.
